Educated girls have immense potential to achieve their dreams and positively impact the social, economic and health standards. However, millions of little girls in rural India do not receive equal opportunities to be educated. The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights said that around 40% of 15 to 18-year-old-girls were out of school, and among them, almost 65% were engaged in household work.
According to studies by UNESCO, if all women had primary education, there would be 15% fewer child deaths.
A survey conducted by the World Bank on 100 countries indicated that every 1% increase in women with a secondary education yields an increase of 0.3% in the country's annual per capita income growth rate.
